New Family Children’s Services Centre is on the way.
We’re excited to announce that Lyndarum residents will soon have access to a brand new Family and Children’s Services centre. The City of Whittlesea have appointed a builder to commence the $6 million project, and ground work has already begun. The facility will provide Lyndarum with access to a huge range of services to support the health and wellbeing of infants, children and families. The new centre will have two registered kindergarten rooms for a total of 66 children, outdoor play spaces, two maternal and child health consulting rooms as well as general amenities, off-street car and bicycle parking, pedestrian links and landscaping. Located at 2 Kyabram Street, the facility is expected to be completed by late 2013 with the first preschool enrolments to be accepted in 2014.
New place of solitude will be one to remember.
In more good news from Epping Views Primary School, the Memorial Sensory Garden, is scheduled to be completed and opened by the end of this year.
This will be a place for all Lyndarum residents to visit and enjoy, stimulate the senses, and/or quietly contemplate life’s big questions.
The garden will feature beautiful war and peace themed mosaic stepping stones, indigenous plants to encourage native animals, as well as a range of other ‘garden experiences’, including a large pond and an Oriental garden where you can rake sand patterns and make different designs. We’d like to give a big thanks to the new Woolworths and the local Epping RSL for their contributions, as well as the City of Whittlesea for providing a grant to allow grade 6 students from Epping Views Primary School to work with artists on the design and creation of the mosaic stepping stones.
Caring for our environment.
The use of recycled water in the domestic environment is an exciting new initiative being provided in Victoria. Residents in stages 30 upwards (lots with a Wollert address) will have access to Class A recycled water for washing cars, toilets, watering the garden.
